Feast your eyes on the luscious Camaro Z28 that has been laid before you in all of its beauty and triumph. Yeah, we received confirmation of this gorgeous piece of machinery last month when GM’s Vice President of Global Vehicle Engineering Karl Stracke openly confirmed its production, but to actually have a photo of it while it gets tested with a bunch of other Camaros just increases the level of excitement that we were already feeling.
The 2012 Camaro Z28 features a lower front fascia than the standard Camaro and much larger intakes. At the rear you can see quad exhaust with dual pipes on each side. The sound that comes out of this beast was described by the photographer as “nothing short of unholy!” The wheels are 20″ SP550 anodized black (20×10 in the front and 20×11 in the rear) wrapped in Goodyear tires. Last month, Stracke mentioned that the new Z28 would be built on a new Alpha platform (and not the Zeta like the current car). He also stated that he didn’t like the steering wheel controls on the Camaro because they were placed too far and the driver needed to remove his hands from the wheel when trying to reach them. We expect to see those changes as well as a few other tweaks when the Z28 is officially unveiled.
The Chevrolet Camaro Z28 will be rocking a 6.2L supercharged V8 engine mated to an automatic transmission. Official numbers have not been released yet, but we cannot wait to see what this baby will do!
Stay tuned! As soon as we get more details, we’ll pass them along to you!

Yesterday we reported that by 2014 Mercedes plans to unveil 20 new models. Today we will focus on the replacement for the current A-Class. It will be a small-car competing with models like the Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3, and BMW 1-Series and will be made aimed directly at the younger clientele. The next generation A-Class will be offered in both three and five door versions and will go on sale in 2012.
The car’s design language will be inspired by the F800 Concept unveiled at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. From this concept, the next A-Class will borrow the prominent grille, neat LED headlights, bold creases in its flanks, and pert tail. The new model will be offered with a range of super-efficient petrol and diesel engines with stop-start.
Taking under consideration an older statement made by Dr Joachim Schmidt, it is most likely that the future model will carry the same A-Class badge and will be built on Mercedes’ new front-wheel-drive architecture: “In the next couple of years, we will launch additional cars where we don’t currently have predecessors. Our current A-Class and B-Class will be replaced by a new platform for four totally different cars defining new segments for Mercedes.”

After the MP4-12C, McLaren has another goodie to reveal: a successor for the legendary F1 supercar. This successor is ramping up for e debut in 2012. According to an AutoCar source, the future F1 will be a “revolutionary hypercar and one which will be instantly recognizable as such.”
The new F1 will be a mid-engined model that will be built on a similar carbon fiber monocoque as the MP4-12C. Even if McLaren has adopted this radical design, the future car will still be recognized as a McLaren F1. And it will also come with the same central driving seat as its predecessor.
With the next F1, McLaren will focus on finding a weight saving solution, but will also focus on an engine that will offer both outstanding performance and improved fuel economy. We expect the new F1 to break the new world speed record set by the 2011 Bugatti Veyron 164 Super Sport, but only time will tell.
This will be the third model in McLaren’s line-up, and unlike its predecessor, it will be sold as a regular series model.

Hey, Mustang, watch out! Hyundai is preparing a new 5.0 liter V8 engine that will deliver 429 HP. Of course, Hyundai did not say that with the new engine they would want to take on the Mustang, but it wouldn’t be as ridiculous as the race between Mini and Porsche! The output for the new coupe is even bigger than the one from the Mustang GT model that develops a total of 412 HP. The announcement was made by Hyundai in South Korea during a test drive for the new Sonata hybrid and 2.0T.
The new 5.0 liter Tau engine is a bored-out, direct-injection version of the 4.6-liter V-8 currently found in the Genesis sedan. Bore increases to 96 mm, an increase of 4, while the stroke stays the same at 87 mm. The result is an estimated output of 429 hp at 6500 rpm and 376 lb-ft at 5000 rpm with an 11.5:1 compression ratio. The new engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic designed and manufactured by Hyundai.
The new engine is rumored to be available for the Genesis Coupe sometime in mid-2011.

The next generation Mercedes SLK is expected to make its world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. Until then all we can do is make suppositions on what it will look like and what engines will be placed under the hood.
The latest render comes from the German magazine AutoBild, who suggests that the 2012 SLK will take its DNA design language from the new SLS AMG sports car. The latest spy shots also reveal the next SLK will feature a F1 nose, a less optical tapered rectangular grille, a large chrome bar, and an optional glass roof.
For the first time ever, the SLK will be offered with a diesel engine and a four-cylinder 2.1 twin-turbo engine producing 204 hp and 500 Nm. The SLK 250 CDI will be well equipped to tease the Audi TT Roadster TDI and Alfa Romeo Spider. The SLK 350 CGI will be powered by the new 306 hp V6 engine and will be aimed at models like the BMW Z4.
Sales will begin in April 2011.
